Exciting opportunities have arisen for ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS and POWER ENGINEERS in the nuclear defence industry.

Our Client is a global company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence and aerospace systems in the air, on land and at sea.

We require enthusiastic and talented engineers to join our client in these roles within their Electrical Design Team; you will contribute, within a challenging engineering environment to the successful delivery of future submarines. Drawing on your knowledge of MV (6.6kV), LV (<1kV) and DC Generation and Distribution Systems, responsibilities will include: Power Systems Modelling and Analysis, Equipment Specification, System Design, Protection Design, Safety Justification and System testing and results analysis. You will have ownership and responsibility for the design and development of systems within your area of professional expertise, such as Power Systems, Control and Instrumentation, Communications and EMC. The work will include dealing with internal and external stakeholders and key customers. Other key areas are the delivery of the design justification and provision of build support

As Electrical and Power Engineers, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Degree educated or equivalent in Electrical / Power Engineering or similar. Ideally Chartered status or working towards this. You will have a proven track record of system design, coupled with knowledge of one or more of the following areas; generators, switchgear, protection and power electronics. Experience of Marine Electrical Systems would be advantageous, but not essential.

Because of the nature of the work associated with this post, it is subject to all selected candidates being required to undergo detailed security clearance. You will need to be holder of a British passport and to have been resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years in order for full security checks to be processed.
