A fantastic contract vacancy exists for a TARGET MOTION ANALYSIS SPECIALIST for a 3 year contract based in Hampshire working for a global defence organisation.

Responsibilities of the Target Motion Analysis Specialist include:

To conduct decode, reconstruction and scientific analysis of operations, tactical development exercises and trials using combat system data. Additionally, to provide expert advice on tactical studies and evaluations conducted in support of the UWW tactical development and operational analysis tasking.

The principal areas covered within the reconstruction and scientific analysis tasking
includes, but is not limited to:

• Data decode of magnetic data from Combat System and navigational systems data.
• Reconstruction of operations, exercises, trials and incidents from Combat System and navigational systems data
• Calculation and verification of reconstruction accuracy
• Mathematical and statistical analysis of sensor, Target Motion Analysis (TMA) and navigation performance
• Tactical studies and evaluations will be carried out on all aspects of underwater warfare but will principally cover:
• TMA studies, including performance analysis.
• Command Systems - principally SMCS, SMCS (NG), DNA 1 and DNA2
• ASW Search
• Sensor performance (including Command System interface)
Although, some commercially developed decode programs are used in the reconstruction process, a crucial aspect of the work of the consultants will be the use and development of in-house programs to provide a responsive and flexible approach to emergent analysis tasking. A suite of Visual Basic programs have been developed in-house that support track reconstruction (and rectification), as well as sensor and TMA solution analysis. The operation of these programs is fundamental to the reconstruction and analysis process and the continued efficiency of operational analysis within the UWW Division.
The contractor will be required to work with and alongside Naval staff under the direction of both civilian and RN personnel.
Because of the nature of the work associated with this post, it is subject to all selected candidates being required to either currently hold or gain full DV clearance upon commencement of the role; candidates who already hold MOD SC Clearance will be considered.
