An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Commissioning Engineer based in Cumbria.

Candidates with an HM Navy background or oil/gas/nuclear industries would be preferred. This will be on a shift basis and therefore a shift allowance would be available.

You must be:

• A team player with good communication skills both oral and written
• Must be experienced in testing and commissioning with practical knowledge of complex mechanical or electrical systems
• Academically qualified to a minimum of ONC
• Computer literate and competent in the use of databases
• Experience of the structure and operation of Nuclear Submarine Systems would be a distinct advantage
• Holder of a British passport and to have been resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years for extensive MOD security checks to be processed

Duties will include:

• To carry out routine work with limited supervision and complex tasks under direct supervision in their related area
• To be able to access, have a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation e.g. Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc and to obey all HS & E rules and control measures.
• Liaise/interface with appropriate areas internally and externally to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Responsible for research and compilation of appropriate documentation to the required standard
• Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out by using company systems.
• To represent the company on contractor's sea trials and other outworking requirements.
